Countryside Properties is a multi-disciplined Group. We are a private housebuilder, an affordable housing contractor and a commercial property developer. With this blend of skills, mixed-use schemes and sustainable communities are a significant feature of our activities. We can therefore work with our partners to deliver every aspect of mixed-use and mixed-tenure development, including strategic land assembly.
We are very much a trading business and all of our completed projects are sold rather than retained as investments.
Considerable Financial Resources
Since becoming a private company in 2005 (owned 50/50 by the Cherry family and HBOS) we have financial facilities available to us which are greater than when we were listed on the London Stock Exchange. HBOS has been a very good partner - supportive, decisive and flexible, and of course they have huge financial firepower.
We have a tremendous portfolio of current and future projects amounting to over £6.5 billion.
Adding Value and Securing Planning Consents
Whatever sector of the market we are involved with a quality, added value approach is key for us. High quality design is a cornerstone of our approach and with the Government increasingly moving towards promoting good quality design it is fundamental in securing planning consents.
Planning is becoming more and more frustrating and the supply of new projects more restrictive. Our approach is to run with the Government's agenda and to ensure that we have the skills and resources to succeed in today's planning environment. As a result, we are highly successful in achieving planning consents for our development proposals.
We have a significant in-house Research and Development team which is key in helping us lead the way here.
