Ventura, the latest phase of housing at St Mary’s Island, Chatham Maritime has won an award for its design and innovation.
Designed by Countryside Maritime, a joint venture project between Countryside Properties and SEEDA (the South East England Development Agency), Ventura has received the Design and Innovation Award from Hot Property, the leading home buyers guide for London and the South East.
The judges were impressed with Ventura’s uniqueness and praised the development for its “thoughtfully planned collection of homes of all types, with the common theme of unique, colourful design running throughout.”
On receiving the award, Christopher Broster, Project Director for Countryside Maritime commented: “Ventura continues the design-led approach we have taken at St Mary’s Island. Our vision for Ventura is to extend the use of contemporary colours, which proved so successful in the Fishing Village and combine this with outstanding features such as double height glazed windows, which provide the homes with superb vistas of the Island.”
Cedar wood panelling contrasts with the red brick work and the butterfly shaped rooflines continue the design’s affinity with the Island’s environment.
The first award for Ventura in 2005 follows an extremely successful 2004, with St Mary’s Island winning three industry accolades - A ‘Building for Life’ Silver Standard, and commendations from the World Wildlife Fund for Nature’s (WWF) inaugural Sustainable New Homes award and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors’ (RICS) Building of the Year Award in their regeneration category.
Properties currently available at Ventura include one and two bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom homes.
Prices start from £150,000 and the marketing suite is open daily from 10.30am to 5.30pm. For more information, please contact Countryside Maritime on 0845 071 2071 or visit the website www.stmarysisland.uk.com
