Copthorn Homes buyer, Alec Gray, is currently living in his third brand new home, which confirms that he is a convert when it comes to the sheer convenience and value-for-money that buying a new home represents.
Alec, a Manager working in Higher Education, was planning to upgrade to a house from his apartment, when he spotted an advert in the Evening Standard for Copthorn Homes’ Coleman Square development, which formed part of the ongoing regeneration of the Peckham area.
Alec, who was then living in Tower Hamlets, knew nothing of the area, but the imaginative designs for Coleman Square caught his eye:
“The advert made me curious, even though I didn’t know the locality, however, once I saw the development, I was certain that I wanted to be part of it. I really liked the ‘feel’ of the development, “ said Alec, who has lived at Coleman Square for over a year. “Funnily enough, my friends originally said they wouldn’t recommend the Peckham area, but that was before they understood about the ongoing regeneration that was taking place. I was actually very impressed with the plans and could see that the entire area was set to become really fantastic when it was finished.”
Alec, who chose a two-bedroom townhouse, was attracted by the fact that Copthorn Homes was such an innovative and visionary developer:
“I had never heard of Copthorn Homes before,” he admitted, “But I was more than impressed with everything I saw. It is not often that you get the opportunity to buy a two-bedroom home in central London with a garage and a garden. I liked the fact that there were French Doors leading from the master bedroom and the living room, and the kitchen and bathroom were great!”
Not only was Alec impressed with the design, quality and finish of his new home, he was also pleasantly surprised at the efficiency, courteousness and friendliness of the Copthorn Homes sales, and after-sales, teams:
“I have now lived in my new home for about a year and I still love it,” he confirmed. “I was very satisfied with the way in which everyone at Copthorn Homes dealt with me and how they helped towards the smooth-running of the transaction. I would certainly consider another Copthorn home in the future, in fact, I have been really impressed with the new South Quarter development which Copthorn Homes is also creating in Peckham.”
Coleman Square is now all sold out, but Copthorn Homes’ striking South Quarter development – also forming part of the renaissance of Peckham - is set to become a new landmark. The development will feature a total of 108 one and two bedroom apartments, created to resemble a traditional Victorian London terrace in keeping with the existing architecture. However, once inside, the scheme will feature a variety of differently designed apartments, all benefiting from Copthorn Homes’ award-winning flair for innovative design.
There will also be 11 townhouses – due for release later this year - each including a garage to the rear, accessible through a pair of security gates, and interior layouts that feature spiral staircases, integral conservatories and superb open-plan living areas.
South Quarter could hardly have a more convenient setting. From its location in Kelly Avenue, it is within easy reach of excellent local amenities including first-class shopping facilities combining major high-street names with an eclectic mix of small, specialist shops, Oriental supermarkets and Caribbean grocers.
The newly created Central Square in the immediate vicinity boasts a state-of-the-art library, a multiplex cinema and the new Pulse leisure centre. In addition, nightlife and entertainment is plentiful with restaurants, bars and cafes less than a mile from the centre of Peckham and with Southwark’s and Docklands’ fashionable nightspots and eateries within a short cab ride.
Peckham also has excellent transport links with New Cross and Elephant & Castle providing an efficient tube service around the capital. Peckham Rye and Queenswood Road are the nearest BR train stations, whilst air travellers will find that Gatwick, Heathrow and City airports are easy to access.
Prices at South Quarter will start at £135,000 rising to £150,000 for a one bedroom apartment and from £160,000 rising to £180,000 for two-bedroom apartments.
