At the Richard 'Beau' Nash apartments, home buyers have the chance to own a period-style retreat in a historic town where gentry and royalty used to go to escape city life. In the 18th and 19th centuries, visitors to Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent would come to taste the reputedly health affirming waters of Chalybeate Spring. Nowadays, Copthorn Homes is providing affordable living to others who would like to enjoy the benefits of living in the former spa town.

The Richard 'Beau' Nash apartments are named after Richard Nash who came to Royal Tunbridge Wells in 1735 and established himself as the 'master of ceremonies', organising the social life of the high society visitors. The nickname 'Beau' was earned after he adopted an exaggerated elegance and began dressing up for the role. The new homes are set in landscaped grounds with mature trees, within a broad and leafy residential street, Garden Road, in the centre of Tunbridge Wells.

The Georgian-style building was inspired by the architecture of the local historic surrounding area and has features such as deep bay windows, tall sash-style casements, a grand portico entrance and wrought iron gates.

Neil Armstrong, Marketing Director for Copthorn Homes, comments, "The Georgian-style building was inspired by the architecture of the local historic surrounding area and has features such as deep bay windows, tall sash-style casements, a grand portico entrance and wrought iron gates. The ground floor apartments will have the added advantage of opening out onto a private terrace, whilst the penthouse includes an atmospheric roof terrace that will provide an attractive retreat. Security has also been considered and residents will be able to enjoy private, landscaped gardens and secure parking will be available adjacent to the development."

The interiors of the 26 new apartments, which are now available for sale, will capitalise upon space and light as in many Georgian homes, but will make use of modern features such as open-plan living areas and fitted kitchens.

Set in almost an acre of land, the apartments are close to excellent amenities such as the Victoria Palace shopping centre, which is less than half a mile away. In addition to a number of bars and restaurants, there is a sports and tennis centre, the Assembly Hall Theatre and a wealth of parks, recreation grounds and open spaces.

There are good communication links from the development with easy access to the A21, leading to the M25 and the motorway network beyond. The British Rail Station at Royal Tunbridge Wells is also close to the development, with regular trains to London's Charring Cross Station (journey time approx. 49 minutes).

Homes at The Richard Beau Nash apartments are available from approximately £150,000 for a one bedroom apartment, rising up to £260,000 for the two bedroom penthouse apartment.
