Innovative housebuilder, Copthorn Homes, is taking pride in the fact that two of its Site Managers have scooped 'Pride in the Job' Quality Awards from the National House Building Council.

John Spooner, Site Manager at Waterstone Park in Stone, near Dartford in Kent, and Tony Coppard, Site Manager for The Chartwell Building in Royal Tunbridge Wells, have both been recognised in the first round of this year's prestigious NHBC competition:

"We are absolutely delighted to have once again been recognised for the outstanding performances of our Site Managers," confirmed Mick Grier, Construction Director for Copthorn Homes. "Both Managers have put in sterling contributions to their sites, as have all our hand-picked team of Site Managers on every site, and we are very proud of them. We wish them both well as the competition progresses."

To win the award, each Manager has been continually assessed during each stage of construction and marked on their attention to detail, their ability to minimise defects, their general practices and ability to organise and motivate their teams:

By winning Pride in the Job awards, each manager is now eligible for consideration in the next stage of the award scheme, where, later this year, they will compete for a coveted Top 100 Seal of Excellence Award, which recognises the Top 100 Site Managers in the Country:

John Spooner, who lives at Warley in Essex, near Copthorn Homes' Brentwood Head Office, has worked for Copthorn Homes for the past two years. This is his first Pride in the Job Award:

"I am over the moon," he said. "It's great to be chosen as a winner of a Pride in the Job award, on a personal level and it also helps to draw more attention to Waterstone Park, Stone, and I would like to thank everyone on site for their teamwork as it is also great for staff moral!"

Tony Coppard has been a member of the Copthorn Homes team for over a year and is very proud of his NHBC Quality Award:

"I am very pleased to have been recognised by the NHBC as a Quality Award winner," he confirmed. "The competition is a good way to help the house buying public judge the level of quality service they can expect from their chosen developer."

Waterstone Park, Stone, set on the periphery of Bluewater at Kent, offers an inspired blend of homes designed with Copthorn Homes' inimitable flair and imagination with a 'garden' environment. All homes have been designed to blend beautifully with the unmistakable vernacular flavour of North Kent, whilst proclaiming their individuality and style.

As well as the famous Bluewater shopping mall situated just a stone's throw away, Waterstone Park is perfect for commuters, with the M25 just two miles away and London Bridge within a 39 minute train journey from nearby Greenhithe.

Designed to encapsulate the very essence of modern living at the heart of an historic spa town, The Chartwell Building consisted of 24 two and three bedroom apartments and a stunning penthouse, all contained in a landscaped courtyard setting with unusual, glazed walkways.

Each of the superbly appointed homes at The Chartwell Building featured the original, contemporary designs for which Copthorn Homes is renowned. An interesting blend of modern exterior design features included steel balconies and canopies to ensure an eye-catching addition to the town centre, whilst traditional materials inspired by the local vernacular - such as slate, render and Kentish brick - ensured the development retains a sense of place, blending comfortably with its period setting.
