Prestigious Coastal Houses In The North West

Very close to the famous Royal Birkdale golf course near Southport, with attractive sandy beaches beyond, planning permission has recently been granted for Countryside Residential (North West) Limited to build 11 new and exclusive, detached executive homes.

The prestigious new four and five bedroom houses are to be located in an attractive tree lined avenue within a conservation area to the west of the village of Birkdale, on the Southport coastline between Blackpool and Liverpool. Each house will have its own private drive, which will be large enough to accommodate at least three cars in front of a double garage. The houses will have unrestricted views over playing fields to the rear; the aforementioned golf course and permanent sandy beaches lie beyond. The houses will be constructed in five different designs, each reflecting late Victorian and neo-Gothic styles of the local vernacular architecture, with features such as projecting gables and traditional sash windows. Particular attention has been paid to reflecting the Conservation Area status of this location.

Birkdale is within walking distance of the Royal Birkdale golf course and two miles from Southport. It is also within easy commuting distance to Liverpool, Preston and the North West motorway network via the M58 and the M6.

The houses at Birkdale are scheduled to be released for sale in January 2001 and it is anticipated they will achieve record prices for the area, well in excess of £400,000.
