A unique country residence standing in its own 26-acre private estate has been created for the first time by Countryside Properties. The Hall is an elegant Georgian-style property with guaranteed views over its own meadows, adjacent to a golf course, with the rolling Essex countryside beyond on one side and the town of Witham on the other.

Helen Moore, Sales and Marketing Director of Countryside Properties' residential division, explains, "The Hall is an imposing residence at the end of a sweeping gravel drive with a formal landscaped approach. According to Strutt & Parker, the Hall is the largest and most luxurious property to be built for sale, in recent times in Essex."

"We have taken great care to ensure it provides the best features of an historic Georgian country house with authentic classical features such as timber sash windows, large rooms with high ceilings and stunning open fireplaces. But what makes it really unique is that despite its historic features, it's a new property. There is no other house like this; it will provide its owners with the luxuries of a new or refurbished house without the need to spend the vast amounts of time and money that are usually required on high maintenance and in bringing an old house up to the same standards."

The Hall has been tastefully designed to look as though it has evolved and been extended over the years. The main part of the house is a soft red brick with hand made clay roof tiles, with two additional wings that have been finished in a complementary rich cream render.

A grand entrance hall creates a powerful first impression with its double height ceiling, open stone fireplace and a sweeping stone staircase leading up to a minstrel's gallery. Large, formal entertaining rooms and informal living rooms on the ground floor open onto courtyards and terraces at the front and rear of the house. Maintaining authenticity and variety throughout, the house is full of surprises as you explore it for the first time, with features such as a spiral stone staircase leading from the study down to a wine cellar below.

The Hall has all the qualities of a fine historic country house, together with modern luxuries such as an indoor swimming pool in a separate leisure wing that also includes a spa pool and steam room. The master bedroom suite affords privacy and luxury, with a separate dressing room, extravagant en-suite bathroom and its own sitting room that opens onto a balcony overlooking the grounds.

The Hall is located on the former Glebe Farm equestrian centre in Wickham Bishops near Witham, less than 50 miles from Central London. It is within 3 miles of the A12 between Chelmsford and Colchester, with direct road and rail links to the M25 and Central London. Direct trains run from Witham BR station to London Liverpool Street (journey time approx. 45 minutes) and London Stansted airport is only 23 miles away.

The Hall is available for sale through Hawksley Pearce, tel: 01621 893 589 and Strutt and Parker, Tel: 01245 258 201. Offers in excess of £3.25 million.
