Cambridge is one of England’s oldest and most picturesque cities, with a superb architectural heritage. The many University Colleges in the centre of the city boast some of the best preserved and most striking features of any buildings across the country.
Accordia, Countryside Properties flagship development in the city, is located on Brooklands Avenue in the south of the city centre, between Trumpington and Hills Roads. Opposite the Cambridge University Botanical Gardens, which are amongst the finest in Britain, Accordia offers city centre living in a tranquil setting.
Just off Brooklands Avenue, Trumpington Road is home to the Fitzwilliam Museum, offering an extensive collection of fine art. The colleges, such as Kings, Clare and Corpus Christi, line the route towards the market square. On nearby Silver Street are good pubs on the river Cam, along with plenty of opportunities to go punting.
Outstanding schools for all ages are just around the corner, including The Leys, The Perse School and St Faiths. The acclaimed Addenbrookes Hospital, a centre of research excellence, is also in close proximity.
The train station, offering frequent services to London’s Liverpool Street and King’s Cross stations as well as Stansted Airport, is only a ten-minute walk from Accordia. The M11 is only 3 miles away providing a route into London, passing Stansted en route, while the A14 almost circles Cambridge and gives access to Newmarket, Huntingdon and Norwich.
The city centre of Cambridge is compact enough to walk around very easily, with a wide range of shops, bars and cafes all within easy reach of Accordia.
A walk past the many bars and restaurants along Hills Road leads you to Parkers Piece, a favourite green for summer relaxation. Close to the historic centre, it offers a wide open space for games and picnics.
Only a short walk from Accordia, there is a brand new leisure complex just off Hills Road which includes a fitness centre, bowling alley and cinema as well as numerous bars and restaurants.
To the east is the Grafton Centre, containing many high street retail names and a Vue cinema, as well as the Parkside swimming pool. A short walk from the Grafton Centre are the famous boat houses, where the rowing crews can be seen practicing early in the morning.
Prices at Accordia start from £350,000 for a two bedroom apartment. For more information, please contact the sales office on 0845 071 2065 or visit www.accordia.uk.com
