19 July 2000

An £80 million joint venture between Countryside Residential (North Thames) Ltd. and Crest Homes (Eastern) Ltd. on the site of the former Warley Hospital in Brentwood, Essex has just received planning permission to build an inspiring new urban village which is set to transform Brentwood into one of the county's most desirable locations to live.

Clements Park will provide 388 new, attractive homes ranging from one to three bedroom apartments and penthouses and two to six bedroom houses, set within 110 acres of parkland with views over Brentwood and the open countryside beyond.

The site has been designed to provide two distinct environments. The first includes elegant and picturesque, detached houses in an attractive parkland setting and the second provides a high quality urban environment with townhouses and apartments located around a series of squares, circuses and crescents. Much emphasis has been placed on creating a scheme that both reflects and enhances the existing buildings and the local architectural style.

Chris Crook, Managing Director of Countryside Residential (North Thames) Ltd. comments, "Clements Park will be a landmark development for Brentwood, providing both new homes and public open space on this former derelict site. All of the homes have been specifically designed for the location and will be built using traditional materials to ensure that they complement the existing listed buildings."

Stephen Stone, Managing Director of Crest Homes (Eastern) Ltd., comments, "As a resident of Brentwood I am delighted to be jointly heading the development team on a scheme which will give so much to the community and will help to raise Brentwood's profile."

Clements Park is less than 1 mile from Brentwood mainline train station which offers a direct service into London Liverpool Street (journey time approx. 35mins.). Brentwood is ideally located for links to the A12, M25 and M11 and Stansted Airport is approximately 26 miles away.

The first homes are expected to launch early in 2001 and are expected to be priced from approximately £150,000.
