The late Alan Cherry 29 January 2010

A memorial service to celebrate the life and achievements of the late Alan Cherry is to be held on Thursday, 18th March 2010 at 2.30pm.  The service will be held at Chelmsford Cathedral and will be conducted by The Rt Revd Dr Laurie Green, The Bishop of Bradwell.

Alan Cherry, CBE DL FRICS Hon MRTPI, passed away on Saturday 23rd January 2010, at the age of 76.  Everybody who met Alan was aware of his qualities which shone through including his passion and desire to set new standards, his charisma and energy, his honesty and integrity, and his care for others whatever their role in life.  During his half century at the helm of Countryside Properties he has created one of the UK’s leading and most respected housing and property development companies, which specialises in the creation of sustainable communities and urban regeneration.  He has built a highly successful company with a pioneering vision and very strong key values.  Alan was admired by many and will be greatly missed.

We would like to extend our thanks for all the messages of sympathy and the tributes we have received.
