Manhattan style living comes to New Broughton

24 July 2007

A funky 152 one and two bedroom apartment building is the latest development to grace the skyline at New Broughton, Countryside Properties' landmark regeneration scheme in Lower Broughton.

'The Vibe' will offer residents all the facilities expected from a Manhattan-style skyscraper apartment block including private and secure parking, a 24 hour concierge facility, as well as a striking glazed atrium style foyer, with a stairway leading up to the first floor mezzanine landscaped garden.  There is also 20,300 sq ft of commercial space on the ground floor which will be occupied by amenities for the local community.

Offering buyers city centre living at an affordable price, the apartments benefit from either stylish balconies overlooking the New Broughton street scene with views of Manchester's dazzling city skyline or elegant French doors which lead directly onto the landscaped gardens.

Residents will therefore have the best of both worlds with the glamour and urban edginess of a city-style apartment block contrasted with the sense of community surrounding them at New Broughton. Conveniently situated less than a mile from Manchester city centre's shops, bars and restaurants, visitors to New Broughton have been continually enticed by its offer and only three properties in Phase One remain.

Martin Leggett, Sales Director for Countryside Properties, comments: "The Vibe brings to Salford some of the glamour and chic that decorates a typical Manhattan skyline. Our vision for the area is to provide city centre living with traditional suburban values and this next phase certainly does that. The Vibe's 9-storey impressive design sets a striking scene and this is contrasted with the warm, community-feel of the New Broughton surroundings, creating a vibrant and sustainable neighbourhood.

"After the phenomenal success of Phase One where only 3 houses remain, we're encouraging all interested parties to visit our Marketing Suite to take a look at the exterior and interior plans for the block."

Set within 180 acres of prime land, New Broughton is situated on the eastern side of Salford. It has been planned and developed over the past three years in conjunction with Salford City Council, Contour Housing Group and the local community.

Editor's notes:
In Salford, Countryside Properties has formed a partnership with Salford City Council to transform the area by redeveloping 75 hectares of Lower Broughton, and deliver over 3,500 mixed-tenure homes and a full range of community facilities and services over the next six to eight years.

Lower Broughton is a major intervention area within the Manchester Salford Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder (MSP) area. The regeneration of Lower Broughton is receiving support from the Housing Market Renewal Fund through MSP.
MSP received £115 million for 2003-06 and a further award of £106million for 2006-08 from Government to restructure the housing market in parts of North Manchester, East Manchester, South Manchester and Central Salford.  MSP's  long-term vision is  to re- create  neighbourhoods of choice in these areas  - which offer  a  greater range of housing choice for residents , increased  levels of home ownership and higher  property values, and  are also  characterised by good schools, community facilities, health centres, shops and leisure amenities.
