In Salford, Countryside Properties has formed a partnership with Salford City Council to transform the area by redeveloping 75 hectares of Lower Broughton, and deliver over 3,500 mixed-tenure homes and a full range of community facilities and services over the next six to eight years.
Lower Broughton is a major intervention area within the Manchester Salford Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder (MSP) area. The regeneration of Lower Broughton is receiving support from the Housing Market Renewal Fund through MSP.
MSP received £115 million for 2003-06 and a further award of £106million for 2006-08 from Government to restructure the housing market in parts of North Manchester, East Manchester, South Manchester and Central Salford. MSP's long-term vision is to re- create neighbourhoods of choice in these areas - which offer a greater range of housing choice for residents , increased levels of home ownership and higher property values, and are also characterised by good schools, community facilities, health centres, shops and leisure amenities.
