Countryside Properties and Annington Homes have joined forces to create a development of luxury new homes as part of the regeneration of the former Inglis Barracks in Frith Lane, Mill Hill, Greater London.
The proposed mixed-tenure development, will subject to planning permission, involve the creation of 360 properties, of which 270 will be for sale, comprising one and two bedroom apartments, and three and four bedroom houses. Building work is due to begin in May, with the show home and marketing suite for the first 104 apartments due to open in autumn 2007. This development forms part of the wider London Borough of Barnet's Area Action Plan that is currently going through public consultation.
The first phase of apartments will provide ideal living for professionals, empty nesters and retirees who are keen to buy in this popular local housing market. Considerable effort has gone into the design of the homes by MLRS Architects to ensure the development gives rise to an improved environment that complements the existing area. The homes have a distinctive contemporary design, built with traditional finishes incorporating timber cladding, brick and render.

Annington Homes become the largest private owner of residential property in the UK following the purchase of more than 57,600 homes from the Ministry of Defence in 1996. The majority of these homes were leased back to the Ministry of Defence for continued use as service accommodation. Each year the Ministry of Defence terminates the lease of those properties across England and Wales that are surplus to their requirements and they are handed back to Annington.
