Countryside Properties help for those people whose lives have been devastated by last year's earthquake in Pakistan has been recognised by the Pakistani High Commissioner in London.

Hosting a 'dress down day', staff at Countryside Properties raised over £700 for the Pakistan Relief Fund.  The sum was matched by the Company to bring the total donated to the President of Pakistan Relief Fund for Earthquake Victims to £1,400.

Thought to have killed more than 73,000 people and displaced millions of others, the earthquake caused unprecedented damage to life, property, and infrastructure.  Communication links and roads have been badly damaged and many disaster hit areas still remain out of reach.

Ehsan Subhani and Guy Lambert from Countryside Properties presented the cheque to Her Excellency Dr Maleeha Lodi, the Pakistani High Commissioner to London and Shahid Hamid, Director for the High Commission at the Pakistani High Commission in London and Waheed Akbar, the former Mayor of Luton.

Network analyst, Ehsan Subhani comments: "We are delighted to support this extremely worthy cause and to have had that help recognised by the High Commissioner to Pakistan.  The damage caused to millions of lives has been catastrophic and anything that can be done to help ease their struggles is well worth it."

The President's Relief Fund is the latest charity to benefit from Countryside Properties' support. Essex-based charities Farleigh Hospice, Essex Air Ambulance, St Francis Hospice and the Brentwood Foyer have received generous donations in recent months.  £8,500 was also raised last year for Wherever the Need, which meant the charity could build five new houses in Sri Lanka for those who lost their homes in the Boxing Day 2004 tsunami.
