Vote who is at the Heart of the Community

18 May 2007

Countryside Properties is once again sponsoring the Essex Chronicle's Heart of the Community competition (previously a category of the Essex Achievement Awards) together with Barclays, and the £6,000 prize fund will help bring profound and lasting benefits to local life.

Continually striving to be at the heart of all things local, Heart of the Community helps celebrate local charities hard work and gives projects a voice that ordinarily can be difficult with typically limited means.

The aim of the competition is to award the project most deserving of funds which will benefit a community in Essex.  The competition has attracted entries from across the county as different organisations seek to stake their claim of the prize fund.

The shortlisted projects are in a special voting feature in this week's Essex Chronicle and the Gazette Series.

Alan Cherry CBE DL Chairman of Countryside Properties commented, "We are delighted to be involved with the Heart of the Community competition particularly now that it is a standalone event.  This will mean that the competition will be getting the full recognition it deserves.  With that local projects that are of real and lasting value will be suitably rewarded and acknowledged.  As a responsible developer we actively support local communities as much as we possibly can.  These awards are a great way of applauding the hard work of our neighbourhood groups and the inspiring people who work tirelessly to make their communities better places for everyone to live, work and enjoy."
