It is commonly assumed that buying a new home means compromising on space. With government planning policy outlining that new build developments now have to densely use space and build up, rather than out, it would appear that, more often than not, to buy a spacious home, it is necessary to purchase an older or 'second-hand' home.
Eclipse, Countryside Properties' development of 62 contemporary homes in Braintree, Essex, bucks the trend of compact new properties, by offering spacious homes with rooms of generous proportions.
Eclipse comprises a range of homes from two bedroom apartments to two and three bedroom houses with internal floor areas ranging from 684 sq ft up to a sizeable 1,126sq ft.
Eclipse offers three different designs of houses and four apartment styles. Each property benefits from open plan kitchens with either an adjoining dining or living/dining area which opens up the reception area and creates yet more space within an already generously sized room - ideal for what is usually the most frequently used room.
Three bedroom houses also feature French windows leading out from the dining room which allows easy access to the garden as well as flooding the room with light.
Yvonne Hudson-Green, Sales and Marketing Director of Countryside Properties comments: "Due to the new rules, it is becoming more and more rare to find new homes with such generous proportions. The homes at Eclipse have proved extremely popular, with many buyers citing the spaciousness and size of the homes as the reason for purchasing."
Debbie Johnson has recently purchased a two-bedroom house at Eclipse after downsizing from a four-bedroom detached house. As such, she had fairly specific requirements: "I was particularly impressed by the size of the rooms at Eclipse. They were considerably larger than other new homes I had looked at in the area. I was particularly conscious of size as I was downsizing and needing to accommodate all my furniture, but Eclipse offered everything I wanted and needed."
The kitchens in the homes at Eclipse are complete with integrated appliances including a stainless steel oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer and the houses also offer a dishwasher. These are encased (Please substitute this with another word!!) in individually designed wood-fronted units combining style with practicality. All kitchens benefit from recessed halogen downlighters.
Bathrooms, en suites and cloakrooms feature sleek, modern sanitary ware by Porcelanosa and Kaldewei, and brassware by Hansgrohe.
Braintree station is located a mile from Eclipse, and London Liverpool Street can be reached in just over an hour. The new A120 provides fast and efficient access to Stansted Airport, with London's West End easily reached via the M11 and M25.
Two-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom houses remain for sale at Eclipse. For further information on Eclipse, please contact the Marketing Suite on 01376 552 164 or visit the website www.homes-at-eclipse.co.uk.
