Apartments featuring conservatories were amongst the first 30 homes to be released for sale on Saturday 24th June at New River Green, Islington, N1. This was the grand launch of Copthorn Homes' striking new development of 63 new homes and six retail units, which forms an important part of Islington's regeneration.
The 30 two-bedroom open-plan apartments, situated on the corner of St Paul's Road and the extension to Clephane Road, demonstrates Copthorn Homes' innovative, award-winning approach to designing homes with the emphasis on maximising both light and space. As outside space is at a premium in London, Copthorn Homes has ensured that all of the apartments will either benefit from at least one balcony or a conservatory ranging from 58sq ft to 72sq ft. A second scheme of 33 new homes located nearby will be released for sale at a later date.
The conservatory is partly inset into the footprint of the apartment and is fully glazed at the front and back to ensure that the maximum amount of light is enjoyed. Apartments on the ground floor with conservatories have direct access to the south facing terraced courtyard and those on the first floor open onto a balconette. The balconies are finished with a fluted, hardwood boarding and a modern steel balustrading adding to the contemporary design.
The high specification apartments include ceramic tiles and timber strip flooring, as well as modern kitchens with stainless steel and integrated appliances. The first scheme will also benefit from underground parking and bicycle parking facilities.
Tony Travers, Managing Director of Copthorn Homes, comments, "We have worked closely with the London Borough of Islington to achieve an innovative, contemporary design, yet one which is sympathetic to the surrounding area. The two schemes perfectly illustrate Copthorn's commitment to light, spacious and innovative homes."
The development is ideally located within half a mile of Highbury and Islington tube station (Victoria Line), and within a quarter of a mile of Canonbury BR station.
The two-bedroom apartments with conservatories are available for sale from £225,000.
