Group awarded top sustainability ranking by WWF

The company is playing a valuable role in demonstrating to others in the industry, and beyond, how to move towards best practice on sustainability.

WWF / Insight Investment recently named Countryside Properties as the leading housebuilder for its outstanding contribution towards sustainable development.

WWF, the global environmental network, in partnership with Insight Investment (a part of the Halifax Bank of Scotland Group), launched a research project to benchmark UK housebuilders' approach towards managing sustainability related risks and impacts, as part of WWF's One Million Sustainable Homes campaign. The thirteen largest UK listed housebuilders were evaluated for the first time on their impacts on the environment and society, as well as their governance and risk management. The survey included the analysis of publicly available information, and meetings with the companies.

Countryside Properties scored 92% whilst the second placed company achieved 71%. The average survey score was 47%.
