At the third Building Homes' Quality Awards presented at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on Wednesday 17th September, the Group won the supreme award of the 'Best Private Sector Housebuilder of The Year'. The Group also received the 'Best Training and People Development Award' which it has now won twice in three years. The Group was also short-listed in the Best Company-wide Sustainability Strategy' and 'Best Health and Safety Initiative' categories.
The 'Best Private Sector Housebuilder' award is an excellent achievement. The judges said, 'The 1,850 unit a year housebuilder impressed us for its achievements and its principles. Its strong performance shows just how seriously the company takes its responsibilities to people, whether they are subcontractors, staff or customers. Its commitment produces diverse schemes that promote housebuilding innovation and offers buyers a very different product, such as London's eco-conscious Greenwich Millennium Village and the boldly designed Accordia in Cambridge".
Regarding the 'Best Training and People Development' award, the judges commented, "Once Countryside Properties has attracted people to housebuilding, it aims to help them realise their potential through its rolling programme called Training to Succeed, which offers 38 courses for site and office staff. Add to that a 46-course Health and Safety training programme and a host of other initiatives and you can see why Countryside is not only a winner here, but is the only housing developer to feature in the Sunday Times' list of 100 Best Companies to Work For".
As the awards organisers said 'it was the all round application of best practice issues that won these awards for Countryside'.
