Countryside Properties has been awarded an accolade at the annual 'Green Apple Environmental Awards 2003' in recognition of its environmental best practice. The Group accepted the award for its 'Didsbury Point' development in West Didsbury, Manchester, together with its contracting partners, Birse at a ceremony held recently at The House of Commons.
'The Green Organisation', which hosted the event, was founded in order to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world. The awards are now in their ninth year and are well established as one of the major environmental recognition campaigns in the UK and internationally.
Robin Hoyles, Managing Director of Countryside Properties' Strategic Division, comments, "It is widely accepted that waste is generated in all aspects of the construction process and the elimination and reduction of such waste is fundamental to the success of Didsbury Point. In order to satisfy both the environmental and commercial objectives of this project it was paramount that recycling opportunities were maximised. We are extremely proud to have been presented with The Green Apple Environmental Award in recognition of our achievements and we will use it as a benchmark to maintain these high standards in the future."
