At the Building Awards last night, (27th April) Countryside Properties received the ‘Sustainability Award’. The awards which were held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London were attended by nearly 2,000 people, making it the construction industry’s biggest annual event. At the awards the Group was also shortlisted in the ‘Best Major New Housing Development’ for the Edge, Manchester.
Regarding the ‘Sustainability Award’ the Judges said, “This housebuilder has long had a reputation as a company that takes corporate social responsibility seriously. That this reputation is confirmed by its presence on the FTSE4 Good index, the Sunday Times' list of the 100 best companies to work for and its ranking on the World Wildlife Fund's Sustainability Survey. This table awards Countryside a score of greater than 90% for sustainability. To understand just how far in front the company is on the WWF's score card, you only need to know that the next highest company scored just over 70%. Enough said?”
For the Sustainability award the Group’s sustainability strategy was rigorously assessed, as was our progress towards our objectives, together with the overall impact of our strategy and its tangible benefits.
