Essex-based developer, Countryside Properties has been awarded the 2000 ProShare Award for the 'Best Web Site for the Private Investor - for a company with a market capitalisation below £250m'.
The annual awards were set up by ProShare to recognise the achievements of companies who have excelled in services for private investors and employee share ownership. They are committed to raising the profile of Investor Relations throughout the UK business community.
The award won by Countryside Properties recognises the accomplishment of the company in web-based technology and the successful implementation of Investor Relations through a more modern and innovative form of communications.
The awards were judged by an independent panel of private investor experts and were presented by the Rt. Hon. Charles Kennedy MP, Leader of the Liberal Democrats. The ceremony was recently held at The Hilton Hotel, London.
Regarding Countryside's website, the judges commented, "For a smaller company web site, Countryside Properties compares favourably against some of the FTSE 100 sites. A very straightforward and uncluttered site, it benefits from good navigation and quick download times. The information for private investors was good, as was information relating to the company and its business." The judges were also impressed with the on-line Report and Accounts and the use made of downloadable presentations.
Chief Executive of Countryside Properties, Graham Cherry, commented, "Good communications with investors is of paramount importance to the success of our business. We are constantly looking for new ways to improve communications, as well as the sharing of information with our shareholders and investors. I am delighted that the website which we have put so much time and effort into, has been recognised and commended."
