Regarding St Michaels Mead the judges said "The scheme is a 'showpiece' development - part of a much larger scheme now in progress. It reflects the developers track record both in terms of layout, design and execution. In addition to the development itself, the main distributor road and bypass to the west benefits from extensive structural, heavy landscaping. The central area of the submitted scheme provides an excellent formal garden feature utilising a variety of hard and soft landscaping which is becoming well established." Regarding The Hollies the judges said "A development that has its own character - and a character of quality - in an area of mediocre inter-war and post war development. Countryside have done well to use and maintain the existing tree cover. It has been very well designed and has the air of place where people would want to live - and enjoy living." Countryside has now won nine Green Leafs in the eleven years of the awards.
