Countryside Properties has added three more top accolades to its extensive collection of awards at this year's National Homebuilder Design Awards.

The Essex based developer was voted 'best of the best' for Accordia its contemporary development in Cambridge which won 'Housing Project of the Year' as well as 'Best House (three or more storeys)' for Accordia 'Air', a four storey villa designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley.  The Group also won a commendation in the 'Best Large Housing Development' for Harvard Grange, its collection of 21 luxurious detached five and six bedroom homes in Stock, Essex.

The judges, who included a panel of industry experts, described Accordia as a 'refreshing and exciting project where people would genuinely want live - a real coup'.  They also praised Accordia's 'admirable design and integrity'.  They described Accordia Air as a 'classy, self-assured townhouse that will appeal to all.'

A collection of 378 houses and apartments, Accordia has been masterplanned by awarding winning architects Feilden Clegg Bradley and supported by niche practices Alison Brooks and Maccreanor Lavington. Unusually, the internal specification has also been developed by the architects who designed the properties and is a stunning extension of their original design vision.

Having already been acknowledged for its progressive design with a RIBA design award, Accordia recently won a Gold Building for Life Standard from CABE (The Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment), the Government's advisor on architecture, urban design and public space.

Accordia also won the Best New Family Home at the 2006 Evening Standard New Homes Awards for Accordia 'Air'.

Chris Crook, Managing Director for Countryside Properties, commented: "We are delighted with the endorsements we have received.  Accordia is testament to our determination to create a completely unique development, not only in terms of its ground-breaking architecture and internal designs, but also in terms of sustainable modern city centre living in the UK."

He continues: "We are also extremely pleased with the commendation for Harvard Grange.  Government planning policy has meant that building large new homes with extensive grounds has almost become a thing of the past, but at Harvard Grange this is exactly what we have been able to achieve - traditionally styled detached homes with large gardens."
