Countryside Properties PLC's Strategic Operations move Northwards

28 January 1999

The Hospital recently closed leaving a complex of buildings covering more than 84 acres and set within extensive, mature parkland, much of which will be retained.

Fundamental to the development is the retention of a centrally located tower, which is a prominent feature in the landscape, visible from the surrounding area. Also to be retained is a Grade II listed Chapel.

The site provides a marvellous opportunity to develop a new community, creatively designed and reflecting the quality and aspirational values synonymous with Countryside, but which have yet to be experienced on a strategic scale by purchasers in the North of England.

The scheme will comprise 300 houses, developed in a range of styles and sizes from two bedroom houses to luxury four and five bedroom detached houses. Given the site's desirable location, exceptional accessibility and quality setting coupled with Countryside Properties significant track record in creating award winning new communities it will undoubtedly be a winning combination.
