Kajima will provide MAFF and other Government occupiers, including the Inland Revenue, with modern serviced office accommodation under a long term PFI contract.
This will enable a significant amount of land to be released for housing to be planned and developed by Countryside Residential plc, Countryside's principal housebuilding subsidiary.
Assuming a satisfactory conclusion to the negotiations, work should start on site in early 2000 to enable MAFF to move into its new building by mid-2001.
