we are delighted that GMV has been recognised by an awards body that strives to raise awareness of excellent standards of development, architecture and green space management.

Greenwich Millennium Village (GMV) has been selected as a 2004 winner of one of the prestigious Civic Trust Awards. The award builds on last year's successes in receiving awards for architecture, design, environmental qualities and contribution to the local community.

Established in 1959, the Civic Trust Awards are highly respected amongst building professionals and local communities alike, attracting entries from all over Britain. The awards focus on development in major cities and metropolitan areas of the United Kingdom, recognising outstanding examples of architecture and environmental design. They are unique in that they take into account the benefit each project brings to its local area, as well as the quality of its design.

This year, Phase 2A of GMV is one of 41 projects in the United Kingdom to receive an award. The team at GMV, who will receive a plaque at a ceremony with the London Borough of Greenwich in August, were particularly gratified to receive a special mention from Dame Jennifer Jenkins, Interim Chairman of the Civic Trust, in her opening speech at the award ceremony.

'At Greenwich Millennium Village, we are all committed to creating an outstanding living environment,' comments Adrian Putman, Development Director for GMV. 'Whilst the level of sales we are achieving at the development provides confirmation that our aims are appreciated by the home-buying public, we are delighted that GMV has been recognised by an awards body that strives to raise awareness of excellent standards of development, architecture and green space management.'

Phase 2A was completed in December 2002 and features 186 units in total with housing for rent, shared ownership and private sale.

This is the second Civic Trust award to be received at Greenwich Peninsula. In 2002 English Partnerships won an award for the Peninsula Parkland and riverside walkways.

For those keen to become part of a lively community in an exceptional setting, a number of new homes are available at Greenwich Millennium Village.
