Countryside Properties & SEEDA win Housebuilding Innovation Award 13 September 2005

Countryside Properties and SEEDA (South East England Development Agency) have been awarded 'Best Partnership between a Housebuilder and the Public Sector' at the inaugural 2005 Housebuilding Innovation Awards for their joint venture at Chatham Maritime, Kent.

The awards, hosted by veteran BBC correspondent John Sergeant and sponsored by the Daily Mail and NHBC, recognise companies demonstrating a clear commitment to driving forward quality in delivering new homes.

Chris Crook, Subsidiary Managing Director of Countryside Properties comments: "We're delighted to be awarded with this prestigious accolade. Countryside Maritime, the partnership created between SEEDA and ourselves has proved highly successful in delivering an innovative and forward looking regeneration scheme. This award recognises our long-term commitment to the creation of high quality homes within an outstanding environment at Chatham Maritime."

Judges were looking for schemes or initiatives that exemplify housebuilders and the public sector working together to deliver projects that satisfy the needs of the local market or community.

The community created at Chatham Maritime has seen the transformation of a redundant dockyard into a new community comprising homes, educational facilities, retail, recreational and leisure amenities.

Over 900 of the planned 2,000 new homes on St. Mary's Island have been completed, offering a mix of private and affordable family homes and apartments.

Prices start at £165,000 for a two bedroom apartment and £320,000 for a four bedroom townhouse. All homes come with parking facilities. For further information please contact the Ventura Marketing Suite on 0845 071 2071 or visit www.ventura-chatham.uk.com
