Being admitted to the FTSE4Good Index is a strong endorsement of our commitment to environmental, social and ethical development.

Graham Cherry, Chief Executive of Countryside Properties PLC

Countryside Properties PLC, the developer of sustainable mixed-use and mixed-tenure projects, has today entered the FTSE4Good UK Index, the innovative socially responsible investment (SRI) index series created by global index group FTSE.

Countryside is a leading practitioner of innovative, responsible development and believes that its approach greatly assists its ability to obtain planning consent, particularly in sensitive situations. The Group's growing reputation with planning authorities in turn often leads to landowners and their advisers preferring the Group when selecting their development partner. Indeed, Countryside has secured a number of new and exciting projects in recent months on the back of its approach that will further enhance the strength and breadth of its development programme.

Commenting, Graham Cherry, Chief Executive of Countryside Properties PLC, said: "Being admitted to the FTSE4Good Index is a strong endorsement of our commitment to environmental, social and ethical development. We believe that being a socially responsible developer does add value to our business and will deliver enhanced levels of sustainable returns for shareholders.
