Country living at its best 28 February 2003

According to the Office of National Statistics, over the last 12 months, 233,000 people have left the capital and other large cities in the South East for a home in a more rural location. With an increase in the number of home buyers demanding smart homes in country settings, Countryside Properties Plc. has created 'Hascard Grange', a substantial five bedroom family house in the highly sought after Buckinghamshire village of Stoke Poges.

The design of Hascard Grange takes its inspiration from traditional English architecture, and has been built to reflect a Georgian country residence by incorporating authentic architectural detailing and an extensive palette of traditional materials and colours.  Hidden behind mature oak trees, Hascard Grange is reached by a long sweeping drive. Set within almost two acres of pretty woodland and gardens, this substantial home offers residents privacy in a peaceful, rural living environment.

Chris Crook, Managing Director of Countryside Properties' North Thames division comments, "We have created Hascard Grange to benefit those home owners who wish to take advantage of the growing trend of moving further out to the country for a better quality of life. In addition, Hascard Grange is situated in a superb location for those who want to enjoy living in the country without the isolation of being far from a major city, as direct train services to London take just 40 minutes."

The prestigious house has been designed to suit formal entertaining, featuring grand formal rooms with high ceilings and stone fire places to the front of the house, while to the rear, the ceiling height is lower in the family rooms to create a more homely atmosphere. The entrance hall is double height, with a grand staircase leading to a galleried landing above.

Additionally, the house accommodates no less than two staircases, two downstairs cloakrooms and dining areas for both formal and informal entertaining. The luxury hand-made kitchen features granite worktops and appliances from Lacanche Cluny, Miele, Amana and Sub Zero. The master bedroom suite is luxuriously appointed, featuring a fully-fitted dressing room and a stunning limestone-tiled en-suite bathroom.

Hascard Grange is approximately four miles from Gerrards Cross, where mainline train services to London Marylebone take approximately 40 minutes. The M40 is just over a mile away. There is a rich array of nearby golf courses and opportunities for outdoor leisure pursuits, while nearby Beaconsfield offers a variety of exclusive shops and restaurants.

Hascard Grange is available for sale through The Frost Partnership on 01753 890 909, for £2.5 million. For sales enquiries contact or visit Countryside Properties website at www.countryside-properties.com
