Innovative housebuilder, Copthorn Homes has added to its ever-growing armful of industry awards in being Highly Commended for its dedicated South Quarter website in the Best Property Website – UK award at the prestigious 2002 International Property Awards.

The annual International Property Awards, sponsored this year by Mercedes Benz and International Property Magazine, are hotly contested by the property industry’s leading players, from construction and housebuilding, through estate agency, to marketing and PR.

Copthorn Homes was chosen as Highly Commended in the Best Property Web Site - UK award, for the user-friendliness, clarity and vision of its South Quarter website, specifically dedicated to the new South Quarter development, central to the multi-million pound regeneration of Peckham. MP Eric Pickles presented the Essex-based housebuilder with its coveted award, at a glittering evening reception held at the Main Pavilion of Ascot Racecourse:

“We are really delighted to be named as the Highly Commended winner of the Best Property Web Site UK award,” confirmed Neil Armstrong, Marketing Director for Copthorn Homes. “This reinforces our belief that going the extra mile towards involving our buyers in all aspects of the housebuying process, and to facilitate an easy and straightforward transaction, makes the process as enjoyable as possible for our buyers.”

The judges were impressed by the website, accessible on, which offered a wealth of information on the exciting new scheme of inspirational one and two bedroom apartments, and three bedroom townhouses, located in Kelly Avenue, off the Peckham Road.

The website highlights the very best of Copthorn Homes’ award-winning flair and imaginative design. There is also an on-line registration form which will allow buyers to forward their details directly to Copthorn’s head office for inclusion on the South Quarter priority list, from which they can receive pre-launch invitations and regular development updates. Buyers can also link easily with Copthorn Homes’ highly acclaimed corporate web site on, which also offers a host of interactive benefits:

“Our intention was to offer a highly efficient platform from which potential buyers could access up-to-the-minute information on South Quarter, as well as build up a clear picture of the area’s benefits and attributes. This award helps to confirm that we have ‘got it right’.”

South Quarter features a range of homes that guarantee flexibility and freedom of choice, thanks to the inclusion of a combined kitchen/dining area linking with an open-plan, designer kitchen. Some designs also include full-length French windows leading to a wrought iron balconette whilst others follow contemporary split-level duplex styling with large master bedroom suits leading to a sunny, glazed ‘retreat’.

South Quarter could hardly have a more convenient setting. From its location in Kelly Avenue, it is within easy reach of excellent local amenities including first-class shopping facilities. Peckham also has excellent transport links, with New Cross and Elephant & Castle providing an efficient tube service around the capital. Peckham Rye and Queenswood Road are the nearest BR train stations whilst air travellers will find that Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow airports are easily accessible.

Prices at South Quarter currently start at £182,995 for a two-bedroom first floor apartment.
