7 August 1998

The regeneration and revival of a 19th Century soapworks, Sunlight Square demonstrates Copthorn Homes accomplishment in refurbishing period buildings. Consisting mainly of 53 high specification refurbished lofts and 24 newly built appartments, each offered a quality lifestyle close to the City of London. Featuring style elements from three centuries – including original high level warehouse windows and exposed brickwork – the development was arranged around a landscaped central square.

Sunlight Square was one of Essex based Copthorn Homes' first projects in London, however since arriving in the area only last year, the company has already made a huge impact. Its reputation for creating innovative and highly original new homes put competitiors in the shade and resulted in the reservation of nearly 90% of the homes during the initial period alone. The entire development was snapped up within just three weeks!

As with all Copthorn homes, Sunlight Square offerd a quality lifestyle with an emphasis on space and light. Designed for open plan living, the atmospheric development was snapped up by buyers all looking for a luxuriously appointed home with more than a touch of originality.

A refreshed blend of modern and traditional styling and the benefit of superb interior fittings, ensured the entire development had a strong emphasis on original diversity.

The advantage of bright, clean, uncluttered lines and high ceilings in the renovated loft style homes at Sunlight Square provided a real sense of space and freedom. The generously proportioned living space included the luxury of Rhodesian Teak woodstrip flooring, Cedar wood cladding, large, light enhancing windows and the mellow appeal of sandblasted brickwork.

The new build homes also offered an exemplary specification and were flooded with natural light. Features included soft carpeting, custom-built kitchens and bathrooms with cool ceramic floor tiles. High performance double glazing, superior insulation and state-of the-art gas central heating were standard in both.

With its close proximity to major London landmarks - such as Canary Wharf, Spitalfields and Liverpool Street Station - and offering easy access to the West End, the M11 and M25, it is easy to see why Sunlight Square was the ideal choice for a fresh new lifestyle.
