Countryside Properties' vision, which is encapsulated by ‘thinking beyond today’, is to create exceptional places for people to live, work and enjoy. Whether we are enhancing existing neighbourhoods or creating new communities we strive to develop inclusive places that are truly sustainable.
Countryside Properties has been engaged in sustainable development for a number of years. We have learnt much from our involvement in a number of high profile projects such as the Greenwich Millennium Village, London and Chatham Maritime, Kent. We strive to improve people’s quality of life by creating residential areas with their own distinctive character and identity including areas of open space, and a wide range of social and community infrastructure such as schools, shops and neighbourhood centres.
We are committed to the highest levels of design and environmental quality as demonstrated by our enviable achievement of holding seven Building For Life standards. The Group is experienced in ensuring that the mix of building typologies and tenures creates socially balanced communities, including family accommodation in high density schemes.
Long term viability
Countryside Properties regenerates existing neighbourhoods and develops new communities that create new jobs and inward investment, thereby ensuring their long term viability. We understand how to bring people, groups and organisations together to ensure that our schemes are socially sustainable. We also understand the long term management requirements of major schemes and have successfully introduced long term management arrangements into them.
We support the Government’s new Code for Sustainable Homes (the Code) which will undoubtedly encourage higher environmental standards throughout the development industry. Furthermore, it is proposed that this will be driven through regular enhancements to planning policy and building regulations. The transparency of policy that the Code proffers gives the industry greater certainty moving forward in how we plan and build major schemes.
