| Develop cost and benefit analysis for future reporting. |
As in previous years, this report demonstrates that we are continuing to develop meaningful cost benefit data. During 2007 we secured £3.89 million (2006 - £2.53 million) of savings and considerably reduced our environmental and social impacts through the embedding of sustainability objectives.
This significant increase in savings has been achieved largely through sustainability and supply chain improvements. It is expected that this figure will increase year on year in future reporting periods.
|
| Increase the awareness of employees and sub-contractors of sustainability issues. |
As reported previously sustainability awareness is being communicated through a variety of mediums, including structured Committees and Forums; our intranet based Environmental Management System, training, trade specifications, principal contractor checklists and Reporting. |
| All new employees to hold a relevant CSCS Card within 6 months of joining. |
The Group fully endorses the Construction Skills Certification Scheme and is committed to compliance for all relevant staff visiting our schemes. To date 88% (2006 – 91%) compliance has been achieved. We will ensure that measures are taken to improve upon this slight decrease. |
