As in previous years, this report demonstrates that we are continuing to develop meaningful cost benefit data. During 2006 we secured £2.53million (2005 - £1.47 million) of savings and considerably reduced our environmental and social impacts through the embedding of sustainability objectives. |
| Increase the awareness of employees and sub-contractors of sustainability issues. |
As reported previously sustainability awareness is being communicated through a variety of mediums, including structured Committees and Forums; our intranet based Environmental Management System, training, trade specifications, principal contractor checklists and Reporting. |
| All new employees to hold a relevant CSCS Card within 6 months of joining. |
The Group has fully endorsed the Construction Skills Certification Scheme and is pursuing 100% compliance for all relevant staff visiting our schemes. To date 91% (2005 – 90%) compliance has been achieved.The remaining 9% are new employees who are in the process of obtaining certification. |
