The position in London for first time buyers and key workers has become particularly acute. The London-Wide Initiative (LWI), which is being promoted by English Partnerships, will deliver around 4,000 new mixed-tenure homes across London over the next four years. Approximately one third of these new homes will be sold at discounted prices to first time buyers and key workers.
Countryside Properties is leading one of three Consortia responsible for delivery of the LWI; our main partners are Hyde, Metropolitan and Presentation Hosing Associations. Considerable progress has been made by our Consortium on the delivery of 1,400 new homes under the LWI. Construction work is now well underway at our first site in London Road, Croydon with Metropolitan Housing Trust which comprises 150 new mixed-tenure homes.
Planning has also been submitted for our schemes at the former Dog Stadium in Catford with the Hyde Group and the first two phases of our scheme for 600 homes at Lymington Fields in Chadwell Heath with Presentation Housing Association.
