275 apartments, 1733 sq m (18,650 sq ft) of office accommodation, a 697 sq m (7,500 sq ft) retail unit and new riverside walkway fronting the River Irwell.

Project

The Edge, Manchester City Centre

The Edge is a major £75 million mixed-use urban regeneration project on a large City Centre site close to the new Lowry Hotel in the heart of Manchester. The design takes the form of a single building in 3 separate blocks, up to 18 storeys high, linked together at the lower levels.

The Edge

The non-residential accommodation comprises a new contemporary three storey office building with its own separate entrance facing the River Irwell which has been purchased by Modus Investments Ltd, part of Modus Properties, plus a two storey retail unit fronting Blackfriars Street.

The scheme also includes a new pedestrian riverside walkway opening up this important part of City Centre river frontage. The apartments will feature bespoke, intelligent IT solutions by Hewlett Packard, as well as 24 hour concierge service and extensive amenities.

The development is a good example of how innovative, imaginative design and the broad experience of Countryside Properties across all sectors, places it in a unique position to integrate commercial development into mixed-use schemes.
